Fisher v. University of Texas, et al.

Stuart Taylor, Jr and Richard Sander
The past decade has witnessed a profusion of careful research on the subject of racial preferences, much of it stimulated by this Court’s decisions in Grutter v. Bollinger, 549 U.S. 306 (2003), and Gratz v. Bollinger, 549 U.S. 244 (2003). Amici curiae have written this brief to bring to the Court’s attention the portions of this research that seem most relevant to the issues under consideration in Fisher v. University of Texas, et al. Richard Sander is an economist and law professor at UCLA, and a leading scholar in the field of affirmative action. Stuart Taylor, Jr. is a lawyer and journalist who has written many articles and a book on various civil rights issues and episodes. They are collaborating on a book about the social science research on, and policy dilemmas involving, racial preferences in higher education admissions.
